Happy Tuesday everyone! As some of you may already know, Ben and I are expanding our family right away. We already have a photo of the little one, in fact! Upon my recent visit to the doctor, we received a photo of the ultrasound that was done. I know that some people cannot make heads or tails of these things. If it helps any, you can see the plus signs at the head and rump, where the doctor was measuring. The plus sign on the left is the top of the baby's head, the one on the right, is (you guessed it) the baby's bottom.
We are very excited, and can hardly wait to meet him/her. Maddie is pretty excited too, but that's no surprise. She has been asking for a baby brother as long as I can remember. I think she will be just as happy, should she end up with a sister instead. She is going to be an excellent big sister. And Ben, being the incredible person that he is, is going to be the best father. Already, this baby has a lot going for it.
We are also pretty excited about our family vacation this year. Same as last year, the whole March family is going up to Lake Koronis. Last year was a lot of fun, and the resort we stayed at was really nice. We all loved the resort we stayed at last year so much that we booked it again this year. I only hope it doesn't rain quite so much this year. Not that it stopped the guys from fishing! You have to be a dedicated fisherman to stand out on a floating dock, in the pouring rain, to catch walleye. Crazy people...
Well, things are busy these days so I better cut this short. I hope everyone is well and happy. Take care everyone, and keep a bright outlook...Spring will arrive some day!
Hello everyone! As some of you may have heard, Ben and I were married Saturday (the 14th).
We were married at Ben's parents' house and had a wonderful Thanksgiving-style dinner afterwards. We had a lot of fun, and everything went very well.
We drove as far as Bloomington, on Saturday night, to stay at the Crown Plaza. Because we were freshly married the desk clerk upgraded us to a suite, which was very nice of him. Sunday morning we spent a little time wandering the Mall of America before heading to Stillwater. We stayed at a bed and breakfast there, called the Aurora Staples Inn (www.aurorastaplesinn.com). The room we stayed in was very pretty (the Peacock room), as was the rest of the house. The couple who own it did a great job keeping things authentic.
We stopped in Mapleton today, on our way home from Stillwater and hit a storm on the way home to Mankato. So now that we are home we tucked in for the storm, Ben is really enjoying his Sodoku puzzle book and I am about to play the Sims.
I have included one photo from our wedding day here. There will be more (once everyone who had cameras collaborates there will be tons) coming soon. Once we gather a bunch I will either put them on our Ofoto site, or possibly post them on a site of our own.
Take care everyone, I'll post again a little later.

Wow, I didn't realize it has been so long since we entered any "news" on our blog. Looks like we were gearing up for the "Cheerfest" on my last entry. That was...an experience. Maddie's team did very well, I thought they were one of the best teams.
Christmas was lots of fun again this year. We spent Christmas eve with my parents, in Lake Crystal. My wacky brother (Steve), got Maddie a RoboPet. That thing is pretty cool too. I have included a photo here of that night. And I'll tell you why I like this photo. If you look past Maddie, you will see my big, tough, brother (Steve again - John is still in Japan) is doing something like a "Oh my goodness" church lady pose. Now, we all have seen photos like this of Steve before, but this one actually wasn't planned - I think he was actually just that excited about Maddie's present.
Late (and I mean LATE) Christmas Eve we headed over to Mapleton to get a few hours of sleep before the Christmas Day madness with the March family. The whole family was there this year, which means it was that much more chaotic, and that much more fun. I'll include a shot or two from Christmas morning as well.
New Year's eve we went over to the Crawford's to eat seafood and hang out. We actually managed to stay up until midnight!
Ben has been working on the bathroom, it is really starting to come together. Looks good so far. The porches need some attention when the weather gets warmer, and we plan on painting a few other rooms. Then we are going to list the house. Time to move on to something a little bigger.
Umm...Nothing is going on today, just hanging around the house this weekend. Ben is working on a homework project and I just finished my bowl of Life cereal. So now I am off to fold the laundry. Hope everyone is having a wonderful new year so far!
