There is even a photo here of Maddie saying good-bye. When we got to our truck to leave the triplets (who are named Manny, Moe, and Mary, by the way) came running out to see us off.
I know I haven't posted in a while. I was surprised to see how long it has been when I checked. We have been keeping busy with day to day activities and some other projects.
Ben is working on refinishing the hardwood floor in Reese's room. He also brought his Thunderbird over from his parents' house. He and his dad also pressure washed our deck last weekend, it looks so much better.
I have been working in the gardens whenever I get the chance. We have our front garden near the house for radish, carrot, lettuce, onion, tomato, green pepper, pea, and bean. Then we have another large garden out by the garage for our pumpkin, cucumber, zucchini, and yellow squash. I planted a hill of watermelon out there as well. I planted some Calla Lilies and two varieties of Oriental Lilies around the property as well.
Maddie is getting excited for summer. Her last day of school is June first. She is working really hard on final projects in hopes of a stellar report card. She will be attending summer school from mid-July to mid-August again this year, but it sounds like she is actually looking forward to it. I have a lot planned to keep her busy this summer, there is nothing worse than a bored kid.
Reese is growing and changing at an incredible rate. He can crawl now! He can move from laying down, to sitting, to crawling position with ease. He is also pulling himself up to a standing position every chance he gets. He is eating small bits of fruit and veggies with his fingers (tuning those fine motor skills), drinking from a sippy cup, and practicing his spoon feeding skills (self feeding that is). In addition to saying no (as seen in the video from my last post), he can also wave bye (or hi), give five, and do some occasional sign language. He sometimes will sign "puppy" and "milk". I think he is working on "food".
At his nine month checkup on May 7th he weighed 25 pounds, 4 ounces (97th percentile). So he is still a large boy, but seems to be really stretching out day by day.
Ben took the dog to the vet this morning for some shots to that we can kennel him for the March family vacation. Sounds like he's back now, so I better wrap this up. We have things to do. I think Ben is planning on finishing up the floor in Reese's room, and I am going to go into Mankato to get some groceries.
Have a great Memorial Weekend!
